We learned tonight that eharmony.com has been known to “reject” customers: “We don’t know why eHarmony has rejected over a million people looking for love”. Apparently this is part of a $10m advertising campaign by chemistry.com. But why? Dating sites are not in the business of turning down paying customers.
And while I missed the whole online dating scene myself, I may have come across a few profiles. And if the people who are not rejected are any indication, I bet you’re gonna feel pretty bad about yourself after being turned down by eharmony.

Your question answered: Why eHarmony rejected you http://www.pinoy.ca/eharmony/104
I spoke to a woman who was raped by one of her eHarmony “soul mate” matches. When she complained, eHarmony offered to give her a free additional six months of their matchmaking services. They did not offer to remove the rapist from eHarmony.
Cookie - I find this very hard to believe. I used to work in law enforcement, and had occasion to work with eHarmony’s Fraud Prevention team in connection with a case. They were very helpful and seemed to be aggressively involved in protecting their users. This sounds like an urban myth in the making.
Well, the woman could have been lying to me.
