hardly working

At a party networking event tonight I saw someone that I recognized from the Cornell hotel school. Turns out that she’s an ‘05 graduate and that she moved to Seattle last summer to start work at Farecast. Oh, and she’s a UCSD graduate.

When I checked in to my Cambridge hotel on Tuesday, someone at Novell had left an envelope for me addressed to ‘Sam Tinglehoff’. Why does this keep happening to me? I guarantee that there is absolutely no system at Novell in which my name is spelled that way. Somebody had to have assumed that they knew my name and horribly mangled it in their memory.

At school I used to see Tinglehoff and Tinglehoffer all the frickin time. Where do they even come up with these? Do those names sound more ‘typical’ than the real spelling? Does this ever happen to other Tingleffs?

Reelect Hillary

You probably can’t see it but this car has a “reelect hillary” bumper sticker. Whadda think? Does she have a chance? I think mccain would clobber hillary in middle america, but i’d love to see some data that says otherwise.

I will never cease to be amazed at the number of grown men who think their socks should match their shoes. No! Please, you are making my eyes hurt!

I don’t know about the rest of you, but personally I’m very reassured to know that the NSA keeps a record of every phone call.
