Sorry about the lack of
Sorry about the lack of updates here. I was boarding in Tahoe with the fam last week and have been partying in SD this week. Vacations rule. Have a great New Years!
Remember parents, tell your little tumbleweeds to look both ways before crossing the freeway.
Some good news... as of November 24th 2003 you'll be able to switch wireless carriers and keep the same phone number. But why do we have to wait until then?

Trent Lott resigns as Senate
Trent Lott resigns as Senate Republican leader.
Thinking about what to do for New Year's. I'm looking for rentals in Big Bear Lake, CA from December 31st till January 2nd or 3rd. Every little condo and cabin seems to be booked solid through the 5th. Nothing at Mammoth either. I guess all concerns about the economy go out the window with a little fresh powder.

Why are so many people searching for Ikea?
The Google 2002 Zeitgeist is a good read, like last year. Can you believe that david beckham came out ahead of anna kournikova? Shows you just how international the web has become.

Bush to California: Choke on
Bush to California: Choke on this from Salon.com
In the air, the water, the forests and on the road, the environment is the battleground for a federal war with California. A Republican administration that believes that industry knows best when it comes to pollution controls is taking on a staunchly Democratic state with some of the toughest environmental regulations in the world.

I submitted my application to the Haas School of Business on Friday. It was due at 11:59 pm, I had it in at 11:41. That day I had a vision that hordes of laid off investment bankers would all apply at the last minute and /. their online application. Luckily nothing of the sort happened. The best essay question on the app: What is your most valued tangible possession? What is your most valued intangible possession? I chose my snowboard. |

It's dumping at Squaw right now. 14 - 16 inches of fresh powder! This winter is looking better and better. It's going to be tough to work at all next week.

We had some good rain
We had some good rain in the Valley yesterday. Usually that means snow in Tahoe. Squaw Valley has a 34" base with 6" last night:

Their $1.8 billion loan guarantee was rejected and the Air Transportation Stabilization Board called United's business plan "not financially sound". They refused to comment on Salon.com.

If your cursor finds
If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash, and the double-clicking icon puts your window in the trash, and your data is corrupted cause the index doesn't hash, then your situation's hopeless and your system's gonna crash!

Still my favorite holiday
Happy Thanksgiving everybody
I had a great time at Cookie & Paul's - thanks guys, the food and company were both wonderful.
I'll be in Houston all this week helping to teach a class. I'm flying United so I'm a little concerned about making it back Friday. They say that bankruptcy would not affect the flight schedule, but of course you never know.
