I finally received the infamous
I finally received the infamous Nigerian email scam. Can you believe anyone falls for this?

At least it's not Baywatch
Got in to Reilingen at noon yesterday. I'm staying at the Walkershof Hotel (+42 62 05 95 90). It's a very nice place. I'm glad they have a gym - I'll be living on schwein, pommes und bier for five days. After a shower I had lunch and walked around Speyer, one of my favorite places around. How can you beat a €0.60 ice cream? |

I don't care how much they might deny it, they do love David Hasselhof in Deutchland. |

Maybe if it came from Jonathan Lebed
I received two very exciting opportunities by email this morning. Thought I'd be generous and share them with you.
First, there's a woman (I assume) looking for men from "West Europe/North America/Asian?" because "men in mine Country not so well".
For those with money to spare - who have not followed my recession stock picks - , check out this exciting recommendation for CBYI. [Jonathan Lebed (my hero)]

UCSD RANKED SEVENTH NATIONALLY IN
UCSD RANKED SEVENTH NATIONALLY IN U.S.NEWS 2003 SURVEY. Seventh of all U.S. four-year public schools. 31st overall. Not too bad. It sucks that Berkeley was the top public school.
For Berkeley and UCSD to rank so high they must overemphasize research and graduate education. I never felt like UCSD really cared about undergraduates. We were just a cash cow to support research.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your pilot speaking. We'll be landing in Phoenix in about 20 minutes at 9 p.m. It seems to have, uh, cooled down a little bit here. The ground temperature is currently 99 degrees. |

I'm flying to Phoenix tonight
I'm flying to Phoenix tonight for the ASUG Business Technology Group Meeting. I've got two presentations: Java Technology at SAP and Web Services at SAP.
I heard attendance is low this year, so I'm just hoping somebody shows up to my sessions. I'll be home Wednesday evening.

This is depressing
The answer, apparently, is that (surprise) they have more money. Not that they have access to better health care, just that they are more successful than the rest of us.
And of course all measurements of success are relative:
Put simply, it didn't so much matter how rich a person was; rather, what was important was how much better he was doing than his neighbors.
Don't believe it? Ask the monkeys at the bottom of the social ladder.

Webber Indicted on Charge of Lying... to a grand jury. Don't worry folks, lying to most people is still legal. And don't worry NBA'ers, lying to the press, your coach and your wife(s) is still perfectly legal. |

Biggie Linked to Tupac's Death. An LA Times investigation determined that Biggie agreed to pay $1 million to the Southside Crips.

Ah, the chicken and the google again
I'm reading about how to submit a site to google. You can add a url to their index, but there's one problem:
The ONLY way a site is included in our index is if our crawlers are able to find it by jumping from link to link on the Web. If we have not found your pages, it is because we have not encountered any links on the web pointing to your site.
Suppose there aren't any links to your site from within Google's existing index? Wouldn't the whole point of submitting a site be to increase the number of links to the site? Why does this page exist if not to add a site without any external links pointing to it?

10-Year Winning Streak Ends for
10-Year Winning Streak Ends for U.S. Basketball
A bunch of ambidextrous, unfazed players from Argentina thumbed their noses at the American stars, took the game to the United States and won, 87-80, in the world basketball championships.
Argentina? Coach Karl, you know my number.

Sounds like a bad movie title
We are watching you ... we are going to kill you ... we are going to kill your mum. This message would make anyone uneasy, but British children regularly send messages like this to each other as systematic bullying enters the 21st century through SMS -- the short message service that comes with all mobile phones in Europe.

Better than a Philly cheese steak
| I just heard that Iron Chef Morimoto has a restaurant in Philadelphia. The $80 'omakase' ("chef's choice") is only a little more than the SAP dinner allowance. Maybe I can roll over from two - okay, three or four - cheap dinners. |

Oldmember
Breean and I went movie hopping yesterday (don't tell).
First we saw Signs. It was thrilling. Mel was boring but the two kids were very good. I think the highlight for me was the birthday party video from Brazil.
After waiting in line at the concession counter for a few minutes, we walked over to Goldmember. Boring. The eight year-old kids next to us liked it but I think they were the only ones. It's time to kill the series. It's dead. The mojo is gone. They can't repeat the same dumb jokes forever and expect anyone over eight to appreciate it.
